BTUK Launches 'The Red Shoe Appeal'

As our Spring/Summer season draws to a close, we are excitedly looking forward to what is coming up next season, not to mention some well-deserved holidays! With plans for 'A Christmas Carol' already underway, and the diary for 2013 rapidly filling up, the future is looking bright for Ballet Theatre UK!

With so much coming up for the company, we are thrilled to announce the launch of our 'Red Shoe Appeal.' The cost of pointe shoes varies from £30 to £65 a pair, depending on the maker, and our female dancers get through them at an alarming speed! During a performance of 'The Sleeping Beauty,' our Auroras have been known to finish off a pair per act, and with such an intensive touring schedule, the annual bill for these essential tools of our trade is astronomical.

For this reason, we are hoping that our Friends and Followers will be able to help us, by making a donation to our Campaign. Any donation, small or large is enormously welcome, and will be hugely appreciated.

"Ballet Theatre UK has a lot of exciting plans for the future but as we aim to grow and develop as a company, with bigger productions and longer tours, the need for pointe shoes will always be a present and pressing need. We hope that our audience members can get behind this Appeal, and support us so we can carry on building on what we have started."
                                                                         - Christopher Moore, Artistic Director.
