Fantastic Feed Back from Blackpool

Earlier this week Ballet Theatre UK performed their festive ballet 'A Christmas Carol' to happy audiences at The Blackpool Grand Theatre. Here is a review of the production from the Blackpool Gazette;

EVEN just mentioning the ‘C’ word before we’ve reached halfway through November is usually unheard of in our household.
But not this year, after seeing Ballet Theatre UK’s stunning production of A Christmas Carol.
Beautifully hand-crafted costumes and simple but effective stage sets brought Dickensian London to life in the Grand Theatre.
The audience, which almost filled the theatre, was taken on the well-known spiritual journey with old misery Ebenezer Scrooge as the three ghosts of Christmas past, present and future endeavored to make him see there is more to life than work.
Vincent Cabot played an evocative Scrooge with dramatic gestures making it easy to see his transformation from being a selfish penny-pincher to crumbling under the terror of the ghosts.
Sarah Mortimer - Shopping Solo
The choreography was perfectly timed to well-known festive tunes and hymns with some beautiful pointe work, splits in the air and pirouettes.
The dark, sinister moments in the production – especially during the performance from shadowy ghost of Christmas Yet to Come (Joseph Mackie Graves)– were contrasted with some light touches of humour.
Claire Corruble made an elegant Ghost of Christmas Past while Ghost of Christmas Present – Kazuka Oike – brought plenty of festive sparkle to the stage with her energetic routine to Deck the Halls.
There was lovely partnering between Young Scrooge (David Brewer) and his lost love, Belle (Sarah Mortimer), and the corps de ballet’s final routine when Scrooge found redemption was heart-warming.
This yuletide production really was the perfect way to get into the Christmas spirit early."

Congratulations to the whole company on a well deserved review.
The Company will next be performing at The Palace Theatre, Mansfield then off to the Theatre Royal at Bury St Edmunds for a five show run.
